EQ2 has always been replete with pop culture references. The original quest to become a brawler in Freeport had you in a "wrestling match" vs "Ondray the Ogre" and "Hunk Hogar" (a big blond barbarian. . . ). All the text wherever you look is in English, just using one of the in-game alphabets, and a lot of them are really fun jokes -- assuming you're enough of a "hugger torch" to translate them back. Yes... one of the messages says that "anyone who actually translates this is an even bigger hugger torch" than someone else apparently on the programming team.

The "clay golem" model has the modeler's name and website stenciled across their chests, the graffiti in the Temple Street zone is actually technical specs of gnomish devices.... sure not all of it is "pop culture" but it's still a ton of easter eggs.

I always wanted to write in my blog something like that. Can I take part of your post to my blog?
Of course, I will add backlink?
