Vacation Requiem

And thus my holiday endeth. It’s been a good two weeks, no doubt. A little too good in fact, making returning to the mundane normality of every day life tougher than expected. Still, it was worth it. Hard to believe that I was nervous about going away to Japan in the first place. I had an incredible time and I feel reinvigorated and re-energized and not just because I survived two earthquakes and a typhoon although those things do help give you a little perspective on life.

Even though I was on the other side of the planet, my brain never stopped thinking about MMOs (boy, I must be obsessed!) and I still managed to write a few articles from my hotel room. Here are some of the highlights:

So now I’m back and mulling over what to get stuck into first. EVE Online is calling me and I’ve got several new skills to try out that I wisely queued up over the couple of weeks that I was away. I’m also slightly tempted to hit World of Warcraft again and try a new Shaman but something, not quite sure what, puts me off. Finally, I just got my key for the Champions Online closed beta and am in the process of downloading it. I believe I can start playing tomorrow and I’m looking forward to checking it out. Hopefully it will offer something a little different to what’s currently on the market and scratch that itch I’ve been having more and more lately. At least, I think it’s a MMO related itch and not some bizarre case of Man-Thrush.
